2010 Water Quality Monitoring Workshop Schedule

The Missouri Department of Conservation, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Conservation Federation of Missouri have published their 2010 Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Workshop Schedule. We are so fortunate to have one of the sessions in Mount Vernon at the University of Missouri SW Agriculture Experiment Station. The Introductory Level workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2010, 8:30am - 5:00pm. You must register at the Missouri Stream Team website. Please call workshop Director, Priscilla Stotts at 573-526-3406, with any questions. You must register by Wednesday, March 17, 2010 to attend.

Precipitation, late January

Here are a couple of images reflecting precipitation the last week in January 2010. The region experienced heavy snow, Thursday evening, Janurary 28, and all day Friday, January 29, 2010. This map indicates calibrated snow accumulation. You can see that the entire Spring River Watershed was in the 3.9" to 9.8" of snow range. [Click on either chart for close-up view]

We had two days of precipitation, January 21 and Janurary 23, 2010. Rain totals for the two days was in the 1.5" range. The USGS watergage went from 2.72 at 10:45am (January 23, 2010) to a high of 3.99' at 7:00pm on Sunday, January 24, 2010.
